New Qore Annual Subscriber, very upset with advertisements

23 replies 6 views Edited Sep 4, 2009

So I finally decided to sign up for a yearly Qore subscription to get some off the cool preview content and occasional beta invites. When i went to watch some of the Uncharted 2 recording footage, I was very surprised to see a video advertisement for Gamefly. Seriously? I mean I would have been surprised to see maybe a Gamefly banner, or even a image that would be up on the screen for a few seconds, but a whole video commercial? I actually PAID MONEY to be able to enjoy this video content didn't I? I worked, earned money, then gave it to Sony so that I can watch these videos showing game progress and whatnot, and I have to wait to watch the content I paid for by watching a Gamefly commercial?

It's ridiculous.

Definitely frustrating and a immensely negative first impression of Qore.

They only show like one, but you do know that they don't have to be watched till the end, you can just skip it when X appears.

You have to remember Qore isn't made by Sony. It's basically a magazine and last time I looked at a magazine there were a ton of ads. I'm actually surprised that for only $30 you get 13 issues and there are very few ads compared to most print magazines.

You pay for cable & get commercials.  When you buy a magazine it has ads.

Everything does.

Yeah it does suck, but it's A LOt better than what the ads were like when Qore first started, plus you can skip the ad when it starts to get boring.
