Hi, I just bought a used Vita from Gamestop.
I've tried logging onto my playstation network account, but there is already one registered to this used Vita.
I've read around, and it seems you can get rid of it by completely formatting it, but everytime I try, it's asking me to sign into the PSN account linked to it, but I can't, since it's obviously not my account and I do not know it's info.
I'm unable to log into the old owner's account to format the Vita, which is why I came here to ask if there was another way that didn't need me to be logged into the old account.
Is there any way that Sony can unlink it for me somehow? If I provide the Vita's serial number, for example?
What's the best way to get a hold of them? Do they respond to e-mails fast?
The Vita isn't linked with any account on the network. Only on the console. There is no way for Sony to reset it unless you send it the Vita. It can't be done remotely, but you can always do it yourself. The Vita doesn't need to be signed in to PSN to run the Settings app. You don't need to sign in to PSN to use any local function. The Vita does have a screen lock PIN that you can set, but that is different than PSN sign-in. Just cancel out of the PSN sign-in, and start the Settings app.
