My vita could not connect to the internet (NW-9734-3)
MY PS ps3 is connected through a cable modem I have no wireless router im trying to get my vita to connect to my ps3s internet connect and when I have full bars on the upperleft corner my vita says connected when I check it under settings , wifi connection
Any thouhts would be much appreciated

When my PS3 is on, I notice when searching for a wifi connection on other devices that it says PS3 protected. I never tried to connect to the PS3 because it shows its password protected. Maybe like with phones it uses the wifi to wireless tether to other devices since the PS3 is connected using a Ethernet cable. I will look at it when I get home.

If the PS3 is configured to run on ad-hoc Remote Play mode, or in ad-hoc Party mode, then it will appear as a Wi-Fi access point.  However, it can only be accessed by portable Playstation consoles that are registered as Remote Play devices for that PS3.  You can't connect to it with other devices, and it will not allow any device, including a PSP or Vita,  to access the Internet.  The PS3 isn't a broadband router.
