Can vita be used with ANY PS3 game?

Was told that you can start playing a game on you ps3 a home, and then when you leave, you can continue to play it on your vita... Is this true and if so des it work for all games or just select game?

No. Only games that support Cross-saving can do that.

In order for cross-saving to work, the game has to have a PS3 version, and a Vita version.  The Vita has no ability to run PS3 games. The vast majority of PS3 games don't have a Vita version, and the vast majority of Vita games don't have a PS3 version.  These games will never support cross-save. Even if there is a version of a game for the PS3 and the Vita, the game won't necessarily support cross-save, even if it has some cross-play function.  For example, Wipeout 2048 supports online play with Wipeout HD on the PS3, but there is no save data compatibility between the games.  Currently only a handful of games allow you to move save data between the PS3 version, and the PS Vita version of the game.
