Alright, so I've heard on forums that the dev's of Drive Club said that the G27 and others will continue to work with the ps4 as they do with the ps3.. However links like these have me worried.
Does anyone have the link to where they stated that current accessories will work? I was going to order the G27 today for my current games and for the future but it's a good chunk of change and the new generation is around the corner.
**bleep**, I'll do some more research I guess into Drive Club since I keep reading them being quoted saying all current wheels will work with their games.
PS4 is going USB 3 instead of USB 2 I don't understand why it shouldn't work.. Wouldn't it just be a driver update? A simple instlal to recognize it?
There is no driver. The PS3 System does not support wheels, fight-sticks, flight sticks, or any USB controllers except for keyboards and mice. The wheel support is in the game code. There is nothing preventing PS4 games from supporting PS3 USB peripherals. There is nothing obligating them to support them either. It depends on the game. If the developers of DriveClub say that their game works with PS3 racing wheels, then it almost certainly does work with the G27.
The G27 contains legacy support for the DF Pro steering wheel chips which contains a DS1 emulation built in. with a single LED light mode...
The DF PRO wheel was added to PS2 USB in games and as the PS3 contains all PS2 USB controllers support the old DF pro wheel support is there in PS3 including the USB DS1emulation support that is built in to the DF PRO
The G27 specific controlls are not supported by default in games.
Go read the GT5 forum and the complaints that the G25 and G27 Did not work...
PD did not code in the USB driver for G25 or G27 till very late after the games release... The GAME itself had to be patched to add this...
Like K&M use... To use ANYTHING more than DS3 the games REQUIRE the USB driver... The Games do not have it enabled by default.
With out the specific driver the DS1 emulation will enable from the DF Pro.
At above , Do some research before you open your mouth.
Ps3 always supported my G25/27. it works great. There is no reason why it wouldn't work on PS4,
Unless logitech does not pay the licensing or renew it, This will work on ps4.
By the way it also works on my ps2.
* Driveclub already said it will work with all wheels that are currently recognized by the ps3. So all Logitech wheels should be safe.
Where did you find this information? What I've seen on various news sites is that Col Rodgers told us that DriveClub will support all the steering wheels that works on the PS4. Does the Logitech G27 steering wheel works on the PS4? I'm not sure. Haven'r seen anything about it. Just people asking about support.
I really want Logitech G27 support for the PS4 and the racing games that comes with it, DriveClub... and Gran Turismo, in the future.
Let's hope that the PS4 supports the G27. And that the game developers include support for it too.
Sorry guys, but as of 11/20/2013, the G27 does NOT work on the PS4. Hooked it up today and couldn't get it to do anything on the PS4. Loaded Need for Speed Rivals using the controller, hoping maybe the G27 will work in game.... NADA !! Didn't do anything. I do hope Sony gets it work with later releases or in a system update.
