First of all, What is a A Bluetooth mac address? And I don't visit forums often, cause Im not in need of help often.
I hear that its a Unique Code identifier for the device in question, but not sure how that is necessary, if I can read it. If I plugged the controller into any other device, wouldn't it recognize it as a Ps3 DS3 Controller?
- A Media Access Control address (MAC address) is a unique identifier assigned to network interfaces for communications on the physical network segment. Logically, MAC addresses are used in the Media Access Control protocol sub-layer of the OSI reference model.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MAC_address
The only times I've needed a MAC address is to let my router know that the piece of equipment was allowed access to my network. You probably need the address for a similar reason. If you plug it into any other device it may be recognized but the system probably wants permission to use it or needs to install a driver specific to it.
