Re: PS Now on PC - Bug/Issue Reporting

Sep 13, 2016

i have found ps now works very well overall

the only issue i have is when opening the app from the task bar after laptop has been asleep or sometimes just if windows has returned to login screen because of screen saver.

the ps now app opens but is non-responsive, i cannot click on anything or scroll the list of games. the overlay/menu sometimes appears, sometimes it doesnt, but clicking on icons does nothing

i typically have to kill it within task manager and restart it, it will then be fine

  2. Description of issue: Upon initial installation the program ran fine and I successfully booted into Tomb Raider. I pressed start the entire program crashed. Afterwards, PSNow would not launch, though there was an icon for it in the tray. I completely uninstalled the program, then reinstalled a new setup I downloaded. Program still would not boot. I gave explicit permissions for PSNow in the firewall settings, then eventually turned off firewall and antivirus. Program would not boot. I set compatibility to Win7 and ran with Admin rights. PSNow finally started up. I attempted to stream a game and it was now saying "Get Started" instead of "Play". It prompted me to sign-in and pay. I signed in and then hit "Cancel". This caused the program to sign-in again on the server and I was able to run a game. Upon running I get sound and can hear effects with button-presses from my controller, but no video. So AUDIO: OK, VIDEO: FAILED

  2. Description of issue: app crashes when launching any game. sometimes works for about 60 seconds, most of the time it immediately throws me to desktop. leaves the app running in the taskbar (sidenote, why does this need to run in the taskbar?). after exiting from taskbar, have to open task manager and close three other processes before it can launch again. worth mentioning that this app worked fine during my trial, but after paying for a year i'm unable to launch any game. tried compatibility modes, excluded from anti-virus. no luck.  *edit to mention i'm running nvidia gtx 1070 since it could be driver incompatibility.

Re: PS Now on PC - Bug/Issue Reporting

Hello,

I have an issue while running the service in the PC. The library doesn't show all games that are supposed to be available. For instance, I only have the following categories:

  • Top 30
  • Games for the whole family
  • My list
  • Play history
  • Fighting
  • Shooters
  • Sports

I have played ICO and Shadow of the Colossus in my PS4 using the PS Now service, but they are not available in PC. I can run the games that are available with no problem., and the app runs perfectly fine. No crashes or errors.

Re: PS Now on PC - Bug/Issue Reporting

F this noise.

Samuel (9/19/2016, 9:53:41 PM): Hello, My name is Samuel how may I assist you today?
Me (9/19/2016, 9:53:58 PM): hi I'm having an issue using ps now on my windows pc
Me (9/19/2016, 9:54:11 PM): app crashes when launching any game. sometimes works for about 60 seconds, most of the time it immediately throws me to desktop. leaves the app running in the taskbar. after exiting from taskbar, have to open task manager and close three ps now processes before it can launch again. Have tried rebooting, reinstalling PS now. those have not fixed the issue, program does the same thing.
Me (9/19/2016, 9:54:38 PM): running windows 10
Samuel (9/19/2016, 9:56:15 PM): I totally understand. I know how important this is for you. It will be my pleasure to further check this PS Now case for you today.
Samuel (9/19/2016, 9:56:17 PM): Just to double check, does the PSN account used to start the chat session is the one in which you need assistance with?
Also, may I ask a phone number in order to update your account information on the system?
Me (9/19/2016, 9:56:37 PM): yeah it's the same account
Samuel (9/19/2016, 9:58:40 PM): Thank you very much, may I ask your internet speed?
Me (9/19/2016, 10:00:10 PM): right now 41mb down 7mb up
Me (9/19/2016, 10:00:23 PM): via http://www.speedtest.net/
Samuel (9/19/2016, 10:01:07 PM): Thank you, also may I ask your PC specifications?
Me (9/19/2016, 10:03:05 PM): windows 10 pro, intel i5-6600k 3.50ghz 16GB DDR4 RAM, radeon R9 280
Samuel (9/19/2016, 10:06:52 PM): Thank you very much, would it be possible for you to test it on a different computer?
Me (9/19/2016, 10:07:12 PM): nope
Samuel (9/19/2016, 10:10:34 PM): Thank you very much and I am truly sorry for the late reply.
Samuel (9/19/2016, 10:10:45 PM): Besides the steps mentioned have you tried any other?
Me (9/19/2016, 10:10:59 PM): nope
Samuel (9/19/2016, 10:11:57 PM): In this case the app would not be compatible with the PC due to you have tried all the steps available for this.
Me (9/19/2016, 10:14:02 PM): ok but that's ridiculous, this is a high end gaming rig with up to date software listed as compatible with ps now. sony charged me for this service and it is not working on my computer and there is no solution or any information regarding why this is happening.
Me (9/19/2016, 10:14:33 PM): I understand that this is a new service but there has to be more information on why this is happening
Me (9/19/2016, 10:14:45 PM): they should not be charging for this service if it does not work
Me (9/19/2016, 10:15:00 PM): this issue has been reported by multiple users in forums
Samuel (9/19/2016, 10:15:27 PM): And i totally understand, may I ask how would you like to proceed on this particular case?
Me (9/19/2016, 10:15:46 PM): yeah I want my money back and to cancel the service and never use it again

Refund given, I will not be charged for a service that does not work.
