Re: Controller pairing for PS Now compatible Smart TVs

Jul 27, 2015
I successfully paired a DualShock 4 with my Samsung UN65JS8500. Light on controller is on solid. When I try to start a game in the PS Now app it displays a screen saying I need to connect a DualShock4 controller with "cancel" as the only option. I've tried unpairing and pairing multiple times with no success. Any help getting this to work would be appreciated!

Same problem with me. I paired the controller with the tv and it says paired but the light won't stay on. I have a Samsung 9000 curved TV

Re: Controller Usage for PS Now compatible Smart TVs

I have the Samsung UN65JS8500FXZA Smart TV with PSNow. I purchased the DS4 as instructed and have paired it to the TV. And the TV indicates the DS4 is connected, but when I go to PSNow, sometimes theDS4 will work the menu. But as soon as the actual game starts the PSNow screen states the blue controller has been disconnected. It seems to work fine if I use USB. So is the DS4 just not compatible using USB on PSNow (with my Samsung) or do I have a problem? If it is USB only it would have saved a lot of head-ache and frustration if they said so in the first place. Thanks

I posted USB when I meant Bluetooth.
So is the DS4 just not compatible using Bluetooth on PSNow (with my Samsung) or am I having some problem?

I have the Samsung UN65JS8500FXZA Smart TV. It's doing the same. Only works works PSNow menu sometimes, but as soon as game loads it disconnects blue controller. Will work fine if I use USB. So is the DS4 just not Bluetooth compatible with PSNow on this tv model? If so, they could have saved a lot of people trouble if they could have said USB only. Please help! This is driving me crazy.

I have the same issue with my Samsung JS8500. The controller shows paired with TV and I gave a solid blue light but it doesn't show as connected inside the PS Now app.

I still have to try wired instead of BT but that kind of defeats the purpose.

Wired didn't work either.

I tested the ds4 either the gamefly app and it works so it definitely is paired to the TV.

You are supposed to press the share button and the Playstation button on the remote at the same time.

Here is what I have found with my Samsung 7100 series 4K TV.

(1) Be sure that the controller is fully charged before trying pairing.

(2) Turn off the TV then turn it back on before trying connection.

I spent a week trying to connect when at last I turned off the TV and when it powered back up the first thing I did was to pair the controller then things started working correctly.

The only question now is.. how do I turn off the controller to save its battery power when I leave the game network?
