Trouble with UPnP

Hey I am stuck on this problem. So my brother had a PS3 and NAT Type 2 connected via Wireless and UPnP was Available. He moved and I got another system recently. When I tested my internet connection, I got a NAT Type 3 and UPnP was Not Available. I asked him, he said he didn't have to do anything. I connected to my router and found that all UPnP features were enabled (you cannot open specific ports). So I don't know what to do. I have a Siemens Router and my ISP is Surewest (Fiber Optics, so no modem needed). And I cannot connect my console via Ethernet cable because there are no Phone ports or Ethernet ports in the vicinity of the system. If it helps, the older system was an Original Playstation 3 40GB console, while the current one is a Slim Playstation 3 120GB Console. Please help and I thank you in advance.

Re: Trouble with UPnP

Have your tried giving your PS3 a static ip address and then adding it into the router's dmz mode?

Re: Trouble with UPnP

Try to bridge your router.  I had to do that to mine.

Re: Trouble with UPnP

Okay I'm getting tired of this not working. I added my PS3 to the DMZ. Nothing

Then I found I could open the ports so I did. Nothing

I also found out I can give the router an IP Adress for Address Translatoin. So I gave the PS3's IP and then I get a DNS Error and all the devices on the network no longer have Internet Access. Somebody Please help.

Do you mean static routing? I don't think you can enter in any addresses for NAT since it's automatic.

Re: Trouble with UPnP

Yeah sorry that was something else.

Anyways I've noticed that whenever I try to open a certain port (UDP 3658-3658), it tells me that one or more of the confighurations is allocated for system use. What does this mean? Do I have to buy a new router? Is there a setting I have to turn off? Siemens Gigaset Se567 is what I have. Please somebody help because this is really getting on my nerves.

Re: Trouble with UPnP

Did you create a static ip for the PS3 before trying dmz?
