It's dangers like this that prevent me leaving the PS3 on and unattended.

maybe you should turn it off every once in a while instead of running it constantly 24/7

There was no warranty for my set (Import set, I tried calling the local office.)

Better ventilation's abit impossible, the set is NOT inside a cabinet, it's sitting in the middle of my room's floor. Don't see how that's not good enough.

I guess enough dust got stuck in there and caused a heat problem. Clearing it out wasn't good enough though... while this might put some people off folding, I won't stop because of something like that. Lol...

I guess I will just clean it out on a more regular basis.

floor being tile and not carpet right? carpet doesn't get rid of heat nearly as good as tile so they heat would just build up overtime.

just go buy a new one and thank you making sure i don't leave mine on when i am asleep gone. i like to fold but only while i am at home.

Unlike almost everyone else I read all of the posts first.

I too have been folding 24/7 since the NA lauch (other than that it was movies with the wife, or playing some games) but i would say i have had a 99% uptime.

When I clean up the house I was always taking the vacuum cleaner hose and sucking the dust that has accumulated by the front vent. The other day I decided I wanted to move the PS3 to a differnt shelf on the entertainment center. I had noticed all sorts of dust around the other vents. I have then made a point to take the hose attachement and suck up around the vent every time I clean up around the house.
