Obtaining IP Address with Wireless Connection

4 replies 2 views Edited Dec 16, 2007
Whenever I try to test my wireless Internet connection with my PS3, it fails obtaining an IP address. Please help me fix this problem.

Thanks.

I'm going to give you the 101 on networking. First go to your router settings and look for the mac address for your ps3,and if your asking what a mac address is, it is the nic card in your ps3 that talks to your router, so make sure they are talking to each other if they are post back and I will tell you the next step.

Yeah I had the exact same problem with my ps3. I used to enter "Automatically" when I reached the "IP Address" section of the network configuration and it always failed, however, I decided to select "Manually" and when I inserted the information myself, I suddenly passed the first part of the test and my signal strenght boosted up about 30% for some reason lol. I dunno if that will work for you but you can try it.
