I've had it with the PlayStation Network!

14 replies 117 views Edited Sep 6, 2010

I pay for PS+ and what do I get? Error codes. 2-5 times a week and the worst is when I'm on Call of Duty, I get a random message saying 'No network connection detected, sign in to PSN to play online'

I have a wireless strength of 60-65% which works fine on some occasions but then fails on me all of a sudden.

The error codes I get are all the normal ones, cant remember them but there common. I've tried all the DNS codes and everything. It's incredibly annoying now :/

Please Help.

Have you put your PS3 into dmz mode or enabled upnp? Wireless definitely isn't all that great for gaming. I get a signal strength of 100% and gaming still doesn't feel smooth in call of duty.

One other tip for wifi: change from the standard channel. Normal 802.11b/g has 12 channels. Default on most equipment is channel 6. Even if you're getting great signal from your router, if one of your neighbors is using the same channel and is close, you can have interference. Just pre-emptively change it to something else. (better yet, use a wifi sniffer to find all the hotspots around your home. Personally, I use wififofum on winmo)

Mines is wireless with 100% signal strength.

I get error codes too, but most of the time they only sign me off.

I think it might be your signal strength.

Hello I am your wireless connection! I'm going to roll this d10 dice every so often. If it lands on a number 1-4, you'll get disconnected. 6-10 you'll stay connected.

If you get wired with an ethernet cable, you won't have to play this silly game.

p.s. Playstation Plus is an optional service that does not guarantee a perfect connection. Just sayin'.

Mine is a NETGEAR connection it runs at 108 MBPS (megabytes per second: which is terrible) but I always get 100% signal strength.
I'm getting a new router next week. (NETGEAR WNDR3700: N600 600MBPS) I would suggest getting a new router. and buy this one.

I think you mean megabits per second and it would make sense for you to get an N gaming adapter with that N router if wireless g is working out for you. You would get faster data rates and better range/coverage.
