What I saw from this and other responses was simply a disagreement with what you said. That is not belittling nor talking down, that is called an opinion...the same as what your original post was.

Just about everything you pay for is ad space. Ever buy a brand tshirt? jeans? Ever time i wear my Element hat i am advertising for element, did thye pay me for it? no, i paid for it, happily. When you buy a jersey for your favorite team, you are advertising for them. Like the psn avatars, those who like them, will buy them, those who dont, wont.
