I have an hdmi cable and it will play my games in hd and playes regular dvds.. but when i put in my blueray disc(spiderman). It acts like its loading and then goes blank. my tv says no signal available .....?.weird? But if i run the av output that came with the ps3 ,IT DOES work ,BUT it looks like a regular dvd .. theres nothing high def about it ....

in the blue rays settings turn off the 24fps setting, even if it is on automatic
