Re: psn account suspended

Apr 1, 2012

I went to log in tonight.  I was also banned or suspended.  I was find and everything.  I even bought things from PSN a few days prior.  However, I think my account was hacked a few weeks prior to being banned.  I contacted Sony about unauthorized purchases, and they didn't do anything; so, I just contacted my bank (JPMorgan/Chase) and I told them about the fraud.  They reversed the transaction and put the money back into my account.  I will call Sony later today, and I hope everything is alright.

Edit: This is my alternative account because I cannot log into my main account because of the random ban/suspension.  Before someone says I did something, I hardly play the system....and i don't even play online that much (I loathe online play).  So, I think it has something to do with my account being hacked or something.  I hope everything is alright.  I wil explain the situation to them.

The highlighted part above is the reason your account has been suspended or banned, any time a user calls their bank to question a payment & the bank then reverses the charges Sony suspends / bans the account automatically.

Thanks.  I actually got off the phone with them, and the service representative told me the same thing (after I was transferred to him).  I will just contact the branch that the CSR provided, give them my service request #, and I hope everything is alright.  The timing is very humorous, though.  I mean that was reversed last week, and it finally hit at the end of the week or something.  No problem there, though.  It will be resolved because I will explain to the specialist that all my banking information was changed.

Re: psn account suspended

Apr 4, 2012

My banned saga is finally over.

It came down to the ol' Vita. I purchased a game called Unit 13 with a credit card on that account. Apparently at the same time my credit card company was issuing me a new card because it had an early fraud warning on the previous one (thank you for protecting me credit card company). Well, the Sony rep says that I purchased the game and then went to the bank and got a refund back for that game (complete nonsense... never contacted my bank). It took him a good 20 minutes to find the issue after he claimed numerous times that I must of had a seperate account that I did this purchase on and then took the money back. He was wrong, he eventually found the issue on the account I kept telling him I was having issues with.

...and, thus, I had a balance on my PSN account and that warranted a ban. No questions to me, no emails to me, no nothing. Just out right ban. As far as I knew I paid for Unit 13 no problem along with several other games I purchased around the same time (Vita had just recently come out).

Moral of the story. Don't accuse people of doing something wrong when they did not. Just because you are banned doesn't automatically make you guilty of doing something insidious (strongly implied by a previous poster here). And also, Sony does not email you when you are banned. It's up to yourself to fix it. The number on this very website gets you no where. You must email Sony and they will give you a different number to speak directly to a representative that can fix it for you. So if you are banned and believe you didn't do anything to warrant it, go that route.

800-345-SONY (7669) This number gets you nowhere. You are given a completely different number when you finally complain enough.

Curious that Wanderlustkid had a similar fiesco. You said you called them on the 1st though? They aren't there on the weekend (I tried calling). The good thing is Sony has corrected the mistake. The bad thing is how much trouble it was to get it corrected and the lack of (nonexsistent) communication.

Whether your points here are aimed at me I know not, I can only summise that they are, anyway your experience was so unusual, by that it apears you were purchasing something at the very same time as your credit card company was issuing a new card, that you have to admit is pretty unusual?, so because of this, in the vast majority of cases a suspension or ban is indeed put in place for good reason, that point I was correct on.

I was under the impression that Sony sent an email to the email address held on account, perhaps they have changed their policy, I'll be endeavoring to find out about that.

Has everyone checked their Spam Box for an e-mail? And is the e-mail you registered the account with still active?

E-mails are sent out with details - if you haven't recieved one, please call Customer Service and they should be able to let you know about the nature and duration of your suspension.

Sorry about the long hold time

So I am still correct in thinking an email is sent out to the address held on file Trawnza?

is it possible for a corrupted mod?
