The Youtube app for the PS3 is not only buggy and flawed, but a messy jumble of mindless icons and button pushes that leaves the user frustrated and angry enough to set fire to a sack of kittens. Browser youtube, although primitive looking, at least worked.
I thought a forum was where people voiced their opinions regardless of what or how they say something. A "public meeting place for open discussion". A place where consensus and dialog is paramount and accepted.
Without reading between the lines too much, one could safely assume from the wide variety of voices and educational vernacular that indeed "this app really sucks" is perfectly adequate a description of a deeply flawed, unnecessary, hostile and coercive application that has greatly reduced the functionality of the communities' "previously adequate" consoles.
Your insight that the "the CPU is processing something in the background which would suggest that this is related to resource allocation" is just another way of saying Bad Coding. Well this 'adult' says, "bad GUI, bad coding, bad product testing, bad project management, bad focus group results, bad product delivery, cluttered unfriendly interface and Bad Faith".
Therefore, in a forum of a demographic particular to Gaming primarily (though the PS3 attests to "Only Does Everything") and a slowly reductive Bill Of Goods as previously advertised, "this app really sucks" suits me fine. More people should be saying it and a heck of a lot LOUDER. My personal indignation and seething anger regarding this Really Terrible App, I also, confirm herewith.
ok turning youtube into an app is a good thing? we cant use a keyboard muchless there is no onscreen keyboard? letter scrolling is annoying. we cant even subscribe to authors of videos there. second this forum should be a intigrated part of the ps3 such as an app. one that allows all its functions.
The app was a good idea but the should fire the **bleep** testers because they missed something. Also I keep seeing that the people who the app works for have the old fat PS3s. It seems the PS3 Slim is the issue. Either way someone should fix this crap. Or at least put the YouTubeXL back.
