fraud issue

5 replies 196 views Edited Sep 6, 2013

I just got this machine last week and the first day I use my credit card to purchase something, I end up with fraudulent charges attempted on my card the very same day. I've never had any issues with my cards ever in my entire life. Not a good start to my playstation experience.

Sorry to hear that happened nightwings, but it might not be Sony at fault here. It could be your unsecured Internet connection. People an get stuff they want, from anywhere they want. Check your Internet settings and put an encrypted pass code on it (if you're using wifi). I prefer to have my ps3 hard wired.

Yeah not  an issue with my equipment, I'm quite capable of securing my home's internet. I just find it funny how within hours of using my my credit card on this thing, someone attempts to use my card with nike and some fish store that I've never heard of and isn't even anywhere near where I live. Like I said, I've never had issue with the hundreds of online credit card uses I've done over the last12 years or so. Just thought they might like to know that they may have an issue with their sevice.

I'm assuming your card provider is following up these card items and doing a chargeback for you?

Yeah they stopped it before it went through. Whoever it was was fishing with small one dollar charges to see if it would work first.
