Why does Sony not have a sense of humor?

Okay, so the last time i was signed in to PSN was 4/9/12 about 2am. Been busy with college so i finally have time to play again today. Try to log in and it says i've been either banned or temporarily suspended. Wait and finally get an email as to why. Turns out my user ID was "innapropriate". Wanna know what the "innapropriate" ID in question was? R_U_FN_K1TT3N_M3. Yeah, for having the letters FN next to each other i got banned. If the ID was so "innapropriate" to begin with why did Sony let met create it in the first place? Believe me i tried to come as close to actually spelling that four letter word that starts with an F and it wouldn't let me. Seen people that have the letters FCK or FCKD in their user ID. Is effin really that offensive to y'all? Not to mention i still had funds in that FN account.

Re: Why does Sony not have a sense of humor?

I can assume that the system they use during PSN registration where you create your Online ID probably isn't "intelligent" enough to recognize each and every individual way you can try to work around using a curse word in your Online ID. Your Online ID probably just got flagged somewhere down the line and now your account is either temporarily suspended/banned because of it.

In the future, I would refrain from creating names that are attempts to work around stuff like that. Not being able to have that word as part of your name shouldn't be a surprise; you wouldn't get away with it in most other all-ages online communities. People that have their names like yours but aren't banned or suspended for it probably haven't been caught yet, I'm sure it's a matter of time before they end up in the same boat as you.

I would suggest calling Customer Support about the issue to see what they can do. Maybe they can go about changing your Online ID to something else that way you can still use the account, you never know.
