Why can't I get nat type 1 ISP(verizon FIOS)

5 replies 458 views Edited Jun 6, 2012

Okay so I have verizon Fios and I am directly connected to the modem/router of my verizon fios but I get nat 2 instead of 1? I think if I have nat type 1 my games will install without that annoying error at %14 the 80029564 because I tried everything and it will never pass I even tried redownloading like 30 times and still same error... I already portforwarded to.

What kind of router?  Verizon uses a couple of different ones.

I have actiontec MI424WR. Verizon Fios only uses modem/router combo they don't just give modem -.-. I even put my ps3 in DMZ mode and no use, I also disable the actiontec firewall inside the router. Well not disable it because you can't but I put on low thats the least it can go.

I have the same problem on Fios.  I have also tried DMZ, port forwarding, firewall adjustments, safe mode to rebuild file system, wiped hard drive and reinstalled operating system, and still no luck installing files larger than 1.5 gb without getting the 80029564 error at 14% of the install.  I would rather not change my cable provider or take my PS3 on the road every time I want to download a game or an update.  If anyone has solved this riddle, I am all ears!

So what's the answer??? I can't get connected to any multiplayer sessions with my ps4, I assume because of NAT type = 2.. I've also done the port forwarding as well as put the **bleep** thing in the DMZ without success... I'm a little surprized this isn't a bigger issue... I can't  be the only one paying big bucks to verizon for the priviledge of not being able to play my games...

FWIW, I also began having these same problems with my XBOX about six months ago -- i eventually gave up and went back to PC gaming for my multiplayer needs...
