Strange Download Problem

2 replies 200 views Edited May 2, 2014

Good Evening,

I am having trouble downloading software from the Playstation Store.

All cable connections are fine, the PS3 speed test says 20 Mbps download and 2-4 Mbps uploading.

When downloading a demo or game, the speed is somewhere around1 MB every 2-3 minutes.

Could this be a problem with my ISP? Is it possible that there is a problem with the HDD? If I switch the cable over to my 360, it downloads at a reasonable speed.

Streaming services seem to work just fine (Hulu+ and HBO Go).

Thank you all in advance for any help.

Online issues:

** Use a unique password for your PSN ID - one you don't use anywhere else **
** Engage brain before putting mouth in gear ** ** two-step verification - use it **

I followed the instructions on that blog and I'm still getting downloads slower than 1 mbps.

The PS3 and online speed tests both agree that my PS3 is downloading between 20-25 mbps.

As a last ditch, I tried to restart the same download via the PS Store and now I'm getting 20 Mbps. Thank you for the DMZ guide.

Back to 3-5 minutes for 1 MB. Is this a problem with Verizon?
