No. All this does it to replace your ISP's provided DNS servers with an alternative.
Now on the other hand, if you go ahead and start opening up or forwarding ports without knowing what you're doing, then you run the real possibility of creating vulnerabilities in your network. That's why I said you shouldn't change anything on your router. Just change the DNS addresses in your PS3. Simple as that.
i dunno if it was roadrunner or psn that changed their stuff but for hte past 2 weeks ive been having to try and try and try to log on usually 5-10 min until it finally let me thru! this last time i took close to 30 min before i got on forums and this let me get on quick!! thanx!!
I have tried what advice everyone is giving but when My Ps3 runs the test right at obtain IP Address it fails. Any other Ideas.
Seems that your PS3 isn't getting an IP address from your source (i.e. router or PC). Are you sure you're getting an IP address? Check network settings page and report back.
