You're a legend mate, thanks for this. I have'nt been able to update my BF3 for like a year because of this and just bought COD:BO2 and couldn't update. When it came up with the same error I almost lost my **bleep**. It was signing me out of PSN etc. Tried this first go everything's great and my COD is updating as I write this, STOKED!

It worked!! Even though I'm not a TWC customer anymore... The only Issue is the connection speed... It went down to 15 MBPS. I have a 50 Mbps service (with RCN)

Oh my goodness! I know this post is super old but it is the only one that I have found that seems to address this issue specifically and even better than that, actually solve it. As far as I can tell, this worked like a charm . So far, so good & I'll be passing this along to all of my friends! Thank you!!!

The REAL Repair for 80710102 if you have tried changing the PS3 Network connections countless of times w/o any success.

If you have spent lots and lots of time going into the PS3 Network Configuration menu countless of times to try to "fix" 80710102 error message...(DNS issue)....Well it's really a VERY simple solution.......It's time to purchase a new wireless bridge or router. I had a cheap-o Encore Router settup as a wireless repeater/bridge, when I changed the device out to a new Cisco/Linksys,,,,  buzz-zing  my PS3 was able to obtain a IP address successfully!!!!

Yahoooooooooooooooooooooooo I'm watching Netflix and playing games again!!!!

If you choose not to purchase a new repeater or router, then you need to atleast go into the gui interface of your AP device and checkout all your settings to ensure nothings missing. (Remember lightning storms has away of screwing up electical devices even with surge protectors).

Good Luck!!
