Private networks only -.-

Hey,

I am having some trouble trying to connect to the PSN (wired connection),

So i am in Student accommodation, today i figured out how i could connect to the psn (had to log into the uni's network via the web browser), i played online fine,

but after turning it off then on again i am unable to connect to PSN and it tells me to check my Internet settings, under the IP address it says: "(private networks only)", i  use to get this all the time when i was connected to my home wireless connection and all i had  to do  is restart my router, but as i am connected to a network, i am unable to restart the router,

Can anybody help me?

thanks.

Re: Private networks only -.-

Can you contact your universitys network admin and ask for advice? They might be able to help out...

Re: Private networks only -.-

that's weird..... and you have to log in via a website in order to gain access to the network?

Re: Private networks only -.-

ok,

i  tried to make a new connection manually typing the IP address in , hoping that it will work, but every time i do i get a DNS error and the default router goes to 0.0.0.0 (i am putting in the default gateway number is that right?) the error i get is 80710102

and the primary dns is: 208.67.222.222

and the secondary is: 208.67.220.220

subnet mask is: 255.255.0.0

im getting realy annoyed now :'(

Re: Private networks only -.-

Gather up 10 people and have them all say they are having the same problem, and then they will reset it, and if that dont work, then find the most tech saavy guy or girl in school, and invite them over, have a beer (over 21 only, if not, Soda) and then mention it and maybe they will fix it for you
