PlayStation Network Scheduled Maintenance

35 replies 24329 views Edited Jul 25, 2012

Hi everyone,

It’s been a great month here at the PlayStation Network with the announcement of this Summer’s PSN PLAY event, two awesome PlayStation Plus updates that brought even more games to members’ collections such as Gotham City Imposters, Renegade Ops, and Pac-Man Championship Edition DX as well as massive savings to exclusive titles like the critically-acclaimed Dyad and more.

In order to continue to deliver you the best online games experience, we will be performing maintenance on the network this Thursday, July 26th. This maintenance will start at approximately 8:00 am PDT (9:00am MDT / 10:00am CDT /11:00 am EDT) and end around 11:00pm PDT on Thursday, July 26th (1:00am MDT / 2:00am CDT / 3:00am EDT on Friday, July 27th).

During this maintenance period, you may receive a message that states “PlayStation Network is undergoing maintenance” when attempting to access the PlayStation Store or PlayStation Home. As long as you have signed in to PSN within 5 days prior to the start of maintenance (meaning: any time since July 21st), you WILL be able to play games online and enjoy apps such as Netflix, HULU Plus and Music Unlimited during this maintenance period. So if you haven’t signed in to PSN in the last few days, we suggest you do so before the maintenance period begins Thursday morning.

We will update you with any changes that may occur in regards to this scheduled maintenance. If you would like to receive a notice when PSN is fully restored, be sure to follow the official PlayStation Twitter account.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your support.

In confused.... This was on earlier...PlayStation Network will undergo a maintenance period on Thursday, July 26th, 2012. Maintenance is expected to start at 8:00 AM PST and will last till approximately 12:00 AM PST on July 27th.

Unlike typical maintenance events, if you are already signed-in to PSN, you will be signed-out and unable to sign back in for the duration of the maintenance window. During this time, you will not be able to access the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Home, Account Management or play online.

Please stay tuned to the PlayStation Twitter feed @PlayStation and our support feed @AskPlayStation for a notice when PSN is fully back online.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Thanks for the heads up . I just wish maintenance could be done in the overnight hours as to not inconvenience the PSN population .

Hi there,

Most of these things I cannot comment on at this time.  However, I can say that Blog.Share is a great place to have your voice heard, and your vote counted, for what you want to see in the future.  Keep your eyes to the Vita section of these forums, and the Blog for upcoming news about the Vita, its firmware updates and it's interactions with the store.

It's difficult because these updates often impact time zones outside of North America.  The team doing these does their best to measure traffic and they pick times that have the smallest impact on the gamers, while still being able to complete their tasks.
