PSN stole $10 from my credit card

4 replies 379 views Edited Jul 16, 2012

I was trying to add funds to my psn using a prepaid vanilla mastercard, and it kept saying card information invalid. SO. I tried again a few times, and it still said invalid. I go to check the vanilla mastercard site, and it says 10 new transactions were made, all on psn. Seemingly every time it said my card information was invalid on psn, it took $1 from it each time. I knew about the 1 charge, but they said it was AFTER adding funds to psn. Seriously, **bleep**?

here's the proof:

Welcome to the PlayStation Community.

Unfortunately Speedy a Moderator will be unable to assist the OP with this, I however can!

To begin with please calm down,  NO ONE STOLE ANYTHING FROM YOU!

Pre-Paid credit cards are not accepted on PSN, the multiple $1.00 charges are credit checks being made for all the unsuccessful attempts you made to purchase from the PlayStation Store, the $1.00 charges will be returned to your credit card in due course.

I would suggest you use your pre-paid credit card to purchase a PSN card & add the funds that way.

Call your credit card company asap and explain what happened they should be able to do a chargeback. All of those charges listed look like pre-auth transactions and PSN shouldnt have done more than one. In future don't trust psn with your primary credit card. You can instead use a prepaid credit card or better yet buy a psn card. Either of those if anything goes wrong you can only lose a relatively small amount.

Sorry CaptainJames but there are a couple of errors in your response.

Firstly there is no need for the OP to call the credit card company, the charges are indeed pre-authorization charges, there are so many of them because the OP tried that many times to purchase something, the OP will be refunded all of the $1.00 charges.

Also pre-paid credit cards do not work on PSN.
