PSN card with funds expired

8 replies 2946 views Edited Oct 14, 2012

as topic title says, i have 2 20$ PSN cards that i lost in august, so i just got some more (as i knew there was nothing anyone could do about that, lol) but anyway i have found them today, and when i tried adding their funds to my wallet it said they were expired, is there any way to PM a admin or something the codes and have them re-newed so the funds can be added to my wallet? (or for a admin to add the funds off them directly?)

naturally im not saying their codes on a public forum Smiley Wink

also sorry if this is the wrong section to put this, i just assumed PSN would deal with card related ishues

I'm fairly certain there's nothing that can be done for you here. Try emailing Sony, but these cards expire for a reason.

Playstation cards DO NOT expire. Call sony they will help.

1-800-345-SONY(7669)

Another thing to try is bring it back to where you purchased it ask if they can activate it again.

Are you kidding me? PlayStation Network cards expire. Got to the "Tips and Troubleshooting" tab in this link.

You should read that more carefully. Playstation VOUCHERS expire, the cards do not. Vouchers come with games or promotions.

Granted, this is the UK PlayStation site, but read the last question in the FAQ.

http://uk.playstation.com/psn/news/articles/detail/item228732/PlayStation-Network-Cards-FAQ/

As well, according to this FAQ on the US site, Vouchers and Codes are the same thing in the eyes of Sony.

even assuming they do expire, i believe something can be done, as it even says there is fund in them, but BESIDES THAT

it flat out says the expirery time is 1 year, not 2 months

Actually No there is no expiration on a PSN card! I'm at the moment holding one in my hand and have gone over the back in its entirety and there is no expiration.. By law if there was one it would have to be printed on the card its self as a disclaimer. Not to mention they can't make them expire cause the way the cards work, even though you can't use them anywhere else, are the same as cash. Meaning its your money you just turned it from paper form to a plastic one and if it expired it would be the same as them stealing your money. And as said elsewhere here a Voucher is not the same thing as a PSN Card.
