PSN- TIME OUT CONNECTION PROBLEM.. HELP!!!

hi everyone.. i have a time out connection problem and i coulden't find any help or answer to my problem for 4 months!! can anybody please help??? i'm kinda desperate.. tnx.

iv'e tried wireless and also wired, nothing changes..

i can browse the web, youtube everything just the PSN cannot connect..

and if it's a router firewall setteing what do i need to change and how?? i have XFINITY modelSmiley FrustratedMCD3GNV

Do you have any routers other than the SMC gateway and how often do you get the timeout message?

What is the wireless signal strength in the network status area and have you tried forwarding ports, dmz, or UPnP?

the signal strength is 100% the router is next to the ps3 iv'e tried also wired.. and i have no idea what is, dmz, or UPnP..

SOLVED!!!!!! changed my firewall setting and all good thank you anyway HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

EDIT: Haha, well I guess you got it.

Ok, you probably need to open ports using dmz since UPnP is enabled by default and doesn't seem to help.

Here is a pretty good guide on how to do that. Basically what you are going to do is enter in your IP settings manually to get a static IP and then enter in that IP into your router's DMZ tab.

You can access the dmz tab by going into the Firewall area of your router's online menu which you should be able to know how to do, but ask Comcast if you need help accessing it.
