I have been trying for an hour but i keep getting messages like
error 80711007 or
system currently undergoing maintenance etc
i have forwarded ports etc on my verizon fios raouter even DMZd the ps3, but i only get nat ype 2
DID SOMETHING CHANGE IN THE LAST DAY OR DO WITH PS3 OR VERIZON????
THIS IS SERIOUS its not just me ...
unless u live in my neighborhood u have no way of knowing that its not my local fios network

No I don't but you do. We just ruled out Sony's end. Why not call Verizon?
verizon doesnt even know what a ps3 is, even the higher level techs. they called it a play-station two. i just dont get what's changed since yesterday and why i cant get an open nat on the ps3. my xbox live works fine and i opened the right ports on the router
I don't have fios and am not getting errors but since e3 started my connection on my ps3 has been complete crap. Takes me at least 5 minutes after i click the ps hom eicon to actually get in home and then when in home a 15 mb space takes a good half hour to download. Also getting extremely slow download speeds for games from the store.
Your problem is more than likely just sonys servers getting hit hard by everyone as is mine. I really wish sony would invest in more servers or at the very least give ps+ users some sort of priority when it comes to downloads. My ps3 is the only thing i ever have issues downloading stuff on. My xbox downloads fine and my pc downloads fine. My xbox is right next to my ps3 so range isn't an issue and my pc is a few feet away from my ps3 and xbox. I have my ps3 in my routers dmz zone so firewall isnt the issue. Obviously my connection isnt an issue because like i said my pc and xbox download stuff fine.
So i am led to beleive any connection issues people have currently are almost entirely on sonys end.
