My ps3 no longer reads discs.

2 replies 180 views Edited Jan 14, 2012

So i was playing saints row when all of a sudden it glitches out and the music and sounds stop. I didnt think much of it because its happened once before and it just came back over time. But this time it never came back and wouldnt let me finish the mission. So I go to quit the game, and in turn it shuts of my whole system. I turn it back on to find my ps3 no longer reads any discs, no games, dvds, or blu rays. Was looking to see if there was anyway to get fix my system without sending it in. I feel like i should just restore but not sure if that will work either.

They didn't want to send it in. I agree the drive is done though. You're option if you don't want to send it in is to check eBay for a drive from the same model and change it yourself. It's relatively simple to do. However if you're under warranty your best bet IS to send it in.
