My PS3 can't access the PSN?

3 replies 3085 views Edited Oct 24, 2013
Earlier today I was playing FFXIV, went AFK while on the Start Screen and when I came back I noticed that my PS3 disconnected from PSN. A bit ago I've been trying to get back, but for some reason the PS3 fails when it tries to get online on PSN.

The Internet seems fine, as I can browse thru my iPad and also on the PS3. Any help?

Hi Azuvidexus,

Removing the game data for FFXIV and redownloading it may help:

https://support.us.playstation.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/369/kw/game%20data

If that doesn't help, the PS3 safe mode restoration options may be able to assist you:

https://support.us.playstation.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1488/kw/safe%20mode

Also, if there is any issue with the game or game servers, you should check the official site for more info:

Thanks,

U--J

It's not an issue with FFXIV, I just can't sign up on PSN. I can't access the PSN Store, for example, because I'm not signed in.

When I make a connection test, it says that obtaining an IP address and the Internet Connection succeeded, but when it goes thru the part that says PSN it says that it failed.

Hi Azuvidexus,

One test you can try doing is to try to connect your console to another network, ideally with a different ISP both wired and wireless.  If you can connect wirelessly then issue would point more towards how your home network is set up.  If cannot connect to any network wirelessly or wired, they may be an issue with your console that needs servicing.

Did you try any of the Safe mode options?

Thanks,

U--J
