LATEST UPDATE (7/25/2013)

PlayStation and MLB.tv are planning to make some updates to the MLB.tv app in the near future. They are listed as follows, and we will update this thread when they are available.

4.02 patch proposed to include the following

1.)    Play/Pause functionality will be remapped to the X button in the following manner:

  1. Pressing X once activates the timeline and pauses gameplay.
  2. Moving timeline scrubber to a new spot on the timeline and pressing X again will resume playback from the selected point on the timeline.

2.)    Default scrub increment (controlled by D-pad) will be reset to approximately 30 seconds.

3.)    During a live game, when opening up Box Scores/CLS, pitcher data will be displayed along with batter data. Currently, only batter data is displayed.

4.)    When Hide Scores is enabled, Clickable Line Score functionality will be available without showing box scores.

5.)    When launching the app, if the current day’s landing page has no game data, app will land the user on the last calendar day which has game data instead.

6.)    Logic for Hide Scores/Show Scores to be inverted (true set to false and vice-versa) in order to ensure uniform functionality across all platforms/devices.

4.03 patch proposed to include the following:

1.)    Scrubber functionality to be further expanded: default scrub increment at 30 seconds, and each repeated press of the D-pad in the scrub direction will increase this: 2x, 4x, 8x, etc.

2.)    In games which have a National feed, “Home” tile in calendar view to be an empty gray box.

3.)    App to accept input from Sony PS3 BDP remote.

Re: MLB.tv 2013 App Issues

Apr 1, 2013

There is a separate issue with the MLB app as a whole. You may notice that the app reverts back to the 2012 schedule. In order to fix this, please do the following:

1.) Delete the current MLB.TV app that you have on your PS3
2.) Re-Download the latest app (2012 version) from the PS Store
3.) Power cycle your PS3 (turn it off and then turn it back on; it won't work without this)
4.) Launch the MLB.TV app

This should fix the issue.

We are still working on a fix that will render the above unnecessary, but until then, please do the above in order to enjoy the baseball season .

Thank you and apologies for the inconvenience.

Hello all,

It looks like the patch to address the issues are taking a bit longer than anticipated to be fully approved. In the event that the work-arounds litsed don't work on your console, we hope to have this live as soon as possible, but the patch does need to pass certification before it's released to the platform. Apologies for the inconvenience, and thank you for your patience.

Hello all,

We're still in the stages of preparing the patch and it's going through format approval for release. There isn't any new information on this yet, however, just wanted to pass along this update and let you guys know that the teams are still working on improving the functionality of the app.

Many users are able to use the app just fine, however, for those of you who are still experiencing issues, we hope to have a resolution for you soon.

Thank you

We have issued an update to this app. This release fixes the issue that a small percentage of users were having that caused a crash at start, including those that were experiencing issues due to slower connection speeds or Time Warner DNS problems. Thank you for your patience.
