"Credit card invalid"

Jun 27, 2013

So, I wanted to purchase a 3 month PS plus subscription but PSN kept telling me the card information was invalid. I checked and triple checked, everything was correct. It is a Visa debit card if that matters. I am 99% sure it is not a problem in my end or with the bank. I used the same card earlier today and everything was perfectly fine. Any ideas?

I'm having this problem.  I've tried switching up my address and so forth.  I put my address into the Account Details, then when I want to put my CC information in, I click on "Use My Residential Address".  Sony tells me that my zip code doesn't match my state.  Really?!  If I get someone from Sony that tells me I should make sure my zip code matches my state, I'm going to flip s#&t!  W..T..F Sony?

I had trouble putting in my credentials but it turned out I put the wrong State. Maybe that should work?

Re: Invalid credit card number

Jul 20, 2013

Well I almost sold my Ps3 4 hours after recieving it due to this issue, but I finally got it to work. i found my answer here

https://support.us.playstation.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/243/~/problems-entering-billing-(credit-c...

the problem for me was my address has a W for West before the 4 numbers would read like this

W8888 EAGLE RD

for some reason which i cannont determin for i have never seen my address this way i had to take out the W so it would read like this

8888 EAGLE RD

this worked for me and i just thought i would post this incase it helps anybody out, I know how aggrivating this is as i have been reading these forums for 3 hours.    -cheers

I've noticed if it's a debit card from your bank that you can run as credit, the PSN won't recognize it.  I had the same issue and called support.  in the end, i ended up using a different card.

Well, if it's a debit card issue then it's something completely new because I've been using my debit card to add $$ to my PSN wallet for years with no problem. I used it as recently as three weeks ago with no problems, but today - out of the blue - it keeps telling me "invalid information" or whatever when I try to add funds. It's absolutely not a problem with the card info as NOTHING HAS CHANGED since I last used it three weeks ago. PSN simply won't allow the charge to go through for whatever reason.
