Improbably long "maintenance"?

8 replies 184 views Edited Jun 3, 2011

Or at least it seems that way to me. Um, I'm pretty sure the maintenance on the 24th OR yesterday's wasn't supposed to be that long.

Specifically, when I try to log on to the PSN proper, it tells me:

Site Maintenance Notice The server is currently down for maintenance. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please try again later.

And then the same in Japanese (which Google Translate, surprisingly, didn't mangle too much). Anyone else getting this and/or able to help? I'm currently not too far out of Fargo, if that means anything.

P.S.: I can get into the Store. I just can't log in to update my password.

Same issue here.  I need to reset my password but I don't have a PS3.  It would be nice to get an ETA on when this will work.  Especially since the blog seems to indicate that everything is working (albeit very busy).

it seems to be any PSN related service, when logging on through a PC, going through PS3 and PSP are fine though

Correct.  But password reset on the PSP sends you an email that requires you to use the PC to finish the process (for non-PS3 owners).  If there is some other way I am willing to try.

I hadn't tried that. I'll go for it and see.

UPDATE: Curses. I'm still getting "network down", despite getting the email from a PSP.

I'm having the same issue. This "maintenance" for the password reset service is taking FAR too long, and I'd wager it still affects a large number of users.
