ICO/SotC not for sale?

8 replies 170 views Edited Jan 31, 2013

Hey there, i wanted to buy this bundle on PSN to have a copy of it without a physical disk..

I heard from a buddy just the other day that he bought it.

The problem is I'm not seeing a price on it on PSN on my PS3 or the PC.. There's no way to buy it at all..

Please let me know if you know anything about why i can't buy this.

I see what you mean about there being no price tag, at least on the Web store. Why not is a mystery. Could it be that Sony's instead concentrating on selling the games individually via digital? Both versions of the game are available solo. You could also contact Sony's technical support team to find out why this problem is occurring and what the solution might be, however.

Thanks for the reply.

I contacted support and they were a little confused as to why they couldn't see the price themselves.

I went ahead and asked for a refund on SotC/Ico which i just bought seperately, because it sounded as though I would be able to buy the bundle after all.

Their only explanation was that I couldn't see the price, because I already bought SotC/Ico, So the budle refused to let me buy it... However this was happening before I purchased either. The PSN specialist told me her superiors were just going to tell her the same thing, and that I should process the refund, then call them if I have any issues buying it after the refund has been processed.

So basically I learned nothing from this so far. ._.

Bump.

Having the same problem. There are a few games listed without prices. I can't remember the others off the top of my head, but at least two of them were collections - one was a Tomb Raider HD Collection, or Metal Gear Solid. But I don't think their role as collections is the problem, because there were some individual games that couldn't be bought either. The problem seems to be fairly confined; I only remember about five or so.

Interesting..

Well.. They processed my refund and have removed ICO/SOTC (individuals) from my PS3, and yet i still cannot purchase the bundle.. so now tech support gets a call.

I'm actually pretty angry about this, i remember it having a price listing before.. And this isn't making me happy in the least. It also locked up my money for a week and I couldn't use my purchase..

I'm not going to present myself to the PS3 rep as though I'm angry, just irritated, because it's not their fault.. However, It is definitely inconveniencing. The SOTC/ICO ps3 bundle can be purchased on disc on Amazon for $20... The price of either of the games individually.

I'll post my results of the call to PS3 tech support.

Well, my case was escalated to my service rep's bosses bosses boss.

She looked around and could find NOTHING on it.

She said perhaps it was content that was once for sale and isn't now, or perhaps its a now game (it's not).

So basically after lots of confused Sony Store reps dug around, none of them came up with anything.

And I guess I'll be buying Ico/SoTC from Amazon for $20+Ship, instead of 20+20 on PSN.

What's weird is I checked the Australian PS store, and it's available as a collection for $AU30.00 (and each game is there separately as well for something like $AU27.50). The US and AU dollar's fairly even at the moment, so I'd be fine buying the collection for thirty dollars, but my money's on my US account, so I can't even really do that.

Like you said, it's not really worth the trouble anymore, but I've developed genuine curiosity on the problem now.

Yeah. I think it's just simply they make more money if they DON'T sell the bundle.

Guess what. I bought the game NEW at BESTBUY (Rip off artists) for $20.

That'd make Sony Super-Rip-Off-Artists.
