I just got a 50 dollar code in my messages?

18 replies 20563 views Edited Nov 21, 2012

Hi everyone, so i was hoping someone could clear something up for me. I sign in on PSN this morning and received a message saying "FREE PSN CODE" it was saying something along the lines of "Send this to all you friends and redeem this code: i8ph-cibd-rk2h"

So, i did not send the message to anyone. but I did try to redeem the code. I almost jumped back when it said "This redeem code has a value of 50 dollars"  if you try to redeem it though it gets an error, if you dont beleive me try entering it yourself. so my question is: is this a hacked psn code?

SPAM message.  Ignore it.

** Use a unique password for your PSN ID - one you don't use anywhere else **

It's spam. Someone used the code then posted that spam message. Even a used code will say the value you just can't add it to your wallet then. Please don't forward it.

I concur; it's SPAM.

I have gotten that message three times.  I just block the sender, and delete the message.  It is really not even worth reporting it either.

You can try it if you like, but it will not work, ever.

I get random messages asking to game share as well.  You should definitely ignore those.  Game sharing is BAD!  Just some friendly advice in advance.

I finally got one of those Music Unlimited discount things from the PSN.  I just ignore it.  I haven't received a message like that in a long time.      You should never hit LIKE on the  facebook PSN page, about when people post, "I just received a PSN code for 20$."  It's  a scam and they are selling your information.

Report and block the person. Chain mail is nothing more than, well, chain mail.

You'll know it's an official message when the sender says [PSN] (I think). Otherwise ignore everything else.

I got the PSN message about MU Aplication today, I'm tempted at only $12.00 for a year!

Me too. I'm just afraid I'll forget to turn off auto renewal. I still have my CC linked to my account since before the attack.
