I Can't File A Report

4 replies 534 views Edited Mar 18, 2012

I recently tried to file a report with the PlayStation Network.  I used the link in the following article to try to do so.

http://us.playstation.com/support/answer/index.htm?a_id=218

However, the process will not complete.  When I click on "Submit", I get a message that states "Your complaint is about to complete ....".  I've let this run for hours, but it never completes.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Does anyone know another way to file a report?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I have the same issue. There is no way of telling if the report actually goes throug or not. Hopefully it can be confirmed here, yes or no.

Depending on the game or issue, we can always make phone calls or go to the appropriate forums and send a PM to officials. But using the Complaint Form does make things easier.

The way you play the game is the way you live your life.

I know it's of no help to either of you but your not alone in this issue, it's been reported many times by many people, but from what someone said a while ago it appeared that even though there was no confirmation that the report was successfully submitted, it did indeed go through, but that's no good when you don't know for sure, so I agree, it would be nice to have a definitive answer to this.

Thanks for the information BRIT-KO.

I came across someone using an extremely racist online ID and was trying to report them.  Hopefully the report did indeed go through.

I appreciate knowing that other people are having this same issue.  I didn't know for sure if it was my computer or browser, or otherwise something at my end.

I actually tried to search for this information before making a post, but the search didn't turn anything up.  After I made my post and took a look at it, I saw a related post listed on the right.  Go figure!

Hopefully the tags I put in will help other people find this thread.  In general, these forums seem to have a really good search function.

It sure would be nice if Sony fixed this ...

Re: I Can't File A Report

In my original post I asked two questions.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Based on the replies above, the answer to this question is yes.  Other people are having this same problem.

Does anyone know another way to file a report?

Below is a list of other ways to file a report.  The first two items in this list come from the replies above.  The third option is something I came across.  I have omitted replying to forums in the list below as I don't think that is appropriate for reporting matters such as these.

1. Send a private message (PM) to a forum administrator.

2. Place a phone call.  You can call Sony PlayStation Support at (800) 345-SONY.  This is the same phone number as (800) 345-7669.

3. If someone sends you a message on the PS3, there is another way to file a report.  Go to their message.  Don't actually open the message, just highlight the message where it is listed in your inbox.  Press the triangle button.  Scroll down (they have somewhat hidden this option) to "Grief Report".  Select "Grief Report" and follow the directions.  Again, this is only an option if the person you are trying to report has sent you a message on the PS3.

I cannot personally vouch for the first two options as I have not personally used them.  I have used the third option.

Also, some people have reported that they do NOT get this problem when using certain browsers.  I'd mention a specific browser, but the posts I've seen contradict one another.  Still, the idea of trying a different browser is still a good one.

I appreciate both of the replies.

The answer from BRIT-KO seems to be the most comprehensive.  I will mark that reply as the correct answer.

Lastly, I just found a related post made by a moderator.  (Aside:  Why doesn't a search for "complaint" give you this post made by moderator?)  A link to this post is below.  It gives some options for reporting people.
