The new update would load to 99% then error out....start all over.
Called Support, was told to send it in,at my cost..which is bs,just for an update.
Update on my PS3 situation. Here is my previous post.
For the first time since I posted, I decided to turn on my PS3, mainly to quickly check up on some things to see if I had any of the other issues mentioned here. Had no intent to play, & wasn't overly concerned about any big problems occuring. So, I turned it on, removed the disc, & signed in. Just as Im about to test DL speed, PS3 cuts off. Upon attempting to turn it back on, YLOD.
While I'm kinda kicking myself for not leaving well enough alone, it essentially lasted moments before it died; I really doubt it'd have time to finish installing new FW even if I'd put it on a flash drive beforehand & started updating immediately. Even then, I really wonder if new FW would even successfully install at all; feels like there's a good chance 4.25 might impede that somehow.
Anyway, short version is my PS3 now has YLOD, & I'm positive it doesn't/hasn't have heating issues. I'd wager you guys are hard at work trying to figure out what the deal is on your end, which we appreciate, but the sooner we hear from you the better. Thanks.
I fixed it. As I said in my previous post. I got YLOD after 4.25 update:
"Hello! I have updated and played with no issues, then I shut down the console. Two days later, I want to played F12012 Demo and could do it due to YLOD. Here is my data
- Metal Geatr Solid Bundle Fat 80GB PS3, 300GB custom HDD
- Wired Connection
- Updated to 4.25 from 4.23"
Well, the solution was Gilksy YLOD Fix:
Okay, I posted back on the 14th about this issue. After the update, my PS3 wouldn't read discs. Talking to Sony was a dead end, so I took it to my own technician. The Blu-Ray drive blew a diode and had to be replaced. Got it fixed and I'm back to gaming, no thanks to Sony, I might add. All in less than a week, as opposed to three that Sony would have taken. When I explained to the technician what happened, he stated that this isn't the first time he's seen things like this caused by updates. He actually charged me a lot less than what Sony wanted. Good thing is, he's nearby, and it looks like I'll be sending him some more business soon.
So let me get this straight. I had a fat PS3 that was 4.5 years old and working fine. I did the update and was having the issue where Madden won't quit and it reboots. I got the blinking red light and thought nothing of it since hey, it's 4.5 years old and went a bought a new one. Now from what I'm reading the red light may have been caused by 4.25. Is that correct?
