I have similar symptoms.
PS3 80GB fat model, default HDD.
Updated from 4.2x (unsure if I updated to 4.21 previously or not) to 4.25 and now my PS3 no longer reads game discs. My system still reads/plays DVD movies and BluRay movies without issue.
Tried rebooting and full power-off/power-on with no effect.
Any suggestion on how to fix the problem would be great, Sony.
- Slim Model. 160GB - Default Drive
- Wireless Internet Connection.
- Updated to 4.25
After the update PS3 games and Blue-ray discs no longer work. The disc spins for 10-20 seconds then makes an ejecting noise but does not eject the disc. Both CDs and DVDs work and internet connection works fine.
40 gb fat model
not sure what firmware I came from. I do know it was earlier than 4.21 because the game I tried to play prompted that I needed 4.21.
Immediately after the update xmb will not show a game or movie when they are inserted. Seem to be having a controller issue too where if I use them wired I can get them to work but cannot get them wirelessly connected. In response to someone's post who said if Sony would allow us to reinstall 4.25 that would be good. Problem is...is that they do allow it. I tried this from recovery and reinstalled the 4.25 and I still am in the same boat.
- slim 250 GB, defualt HDD
- wireless internet connection
- Updated to 4.25 from version 4.20
updated to 4.25 , and now my ps3 controllers wont work unless connected via usb cable. If i unplug the cable i get blinking lights. I have tried to re sync to no avail. I took my controllers to a friend house and they work just fine without the usb cable. The controllers are charged up. Also my bluetooth remote wont connect to ps3 now. It was connected and working just fine prior to the 4.25 update.
PLEASE HELP ! Thanks
I have an error code of 8002f310 since trying to perform update only makes it to 99 percent then freezes can't even stop the update so have useless system now. Ideas
Is there an estimate of how man systems were affected, roughly?
My system auto updated when it was released, downloaded some games had no issues with the internet or how fast/slow it was going. have yet to play any games on it since the update, mainly because I've been playing on my Xbox. But I'm assuming after reading some of the complaints, the issues would have been apparent already. Crossing my fingers that mines is okay, along with all the other ones.
on a side note, I wonder how feasable is it to roll back an update or have a new one that addresses the issue.
