Manually setting DNS servers made everything work again. I used Google's DNS numbers: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

Seems to me like AT&T DSL (my ISP) is the one at fault since it's at the DNS level.

i know how to fix the error, go to  your connection settings, your and scan, put in wep if required and do  everything automatic, but when it comes up to your DNS go to manual, for  primary DNS type in 4 .2 .2 .2 and for secondary DNS type 4. 2. 2 .1

This worked for myself and hope it works for you all too share the knowlege and help people get back on line

FYI  if it does not work switch the primary and secondary DNS around there  have been reports of 4221 working for the primary and 4222 as the  secondary.

Thanks snipe_hayk worked great for me..  You're awesome.  I live in Los angeles, CA and have at&t as an ISP

hmmm i have AT&T and live in los angeles CA as well, for the most part seems like everyone haveing the problem is in CA and with AT&t, glad to help
