Deactivating active ps3's

4 replies 409 views Edited Oct 2, 2012

Im trying to deactive one of my dead ps3 consoles but i get this:

You can only deactivate your PlayStation®3 system from PlayStation®Network using your PS3™ system. You cannot deactivate it using a PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system or PC.

How can i deactivate it remotely ? or do i need to contact support  ?

Thanks and have a nice day !

there are only 2 ways to deactive a PS3, either from the console it was actived from, or online. To deactive it online, go here http://www.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/ sign in with your PSN, then go to Account, and click media and devices, then click what you want to deactive and click Deactivate All. (note: you can only deactive all devices, but you just need to reactive the ones your currently using, and this can only be done once every 6 months.)

You can also contact Sony Support & have them deactivate it. That is what I did.
