At the moment, you can only deactive all PS3s from that site. You can't deactivate them individually yet.

Sing in >> Account >> Media and Devices >> Game >> Deactivate All

This will deactivate all of their systems from their account. After that, just have your friend sign in with the working PS3 and reactive it again.

It won't remove anything, but you won't be able to use it unless you reactivate.

Does anyone know how to acomplish this for the video activation? I'm trying to rent a movie for one of my classes but I can't buy it without activating my playstation video.  Any help ASAP would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I may be wrong, but I believe you are only allowed 1 system to be activated for video, per account name.

As for deactivating all of your systems - If you have more than 2 systems activated with your account, you will no longer be able to have up to 5 systems activated on your account if you deactivate them all.  The ability to have 5 systems active was retrograde and no longer applies to you, if you deactivate all of your systems.
