Creating accounts for my kids on PSN

2 replies 933 views Edited Jul 28, 2011

I just got a PS3 and I'm told to do subaccounts for my kids.  The website is not letting me do this.  What are my options?  My kids want to play online with their own online identities.

Thanks, Randy Geiger

Hi Randy,

You can make sub accounts through the PS3. The only drawback is that it's not possible to change a sub account to a master account once your kids have grown up though.

You can find instructions on the PlayStation 3 Online Manual. Make a new User Profile on the PS3 and choose Sign Up for PlayStation Network. See http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps3/current/account/signup.html.

I don't know how old your kids are Randy, but I would monitor their online gaming carefully.
