Constantly getting disconnected from Playstation network

7 replies 1551 views Edited Sep 24, 2013

Ok This problem has been going on for about 30 days now. I have searched everything I possibly could online to get this working.

I have

a. Ubee DDW3610 cable modem/router

b. Cat 6 cord 50 feet (I know the recommended is 25ft but  it worked for years at this length and I never had an issue)

c. Time Warner Cable 35Mbps down 5Mbps up

I have tried everything on the guide.

I have setup my own ip address and so on

I have Tried Port Forwarding to no avail

I have reset everything on the cable modem/router to no avail

I have tried it on a Verizon network and it worked fine.

I cannot update the firmware on the modem there is no option

The ps3 is fully updated

The PS3 is connected directly to the cablemodem/Router (I tried through a switch and that didnt either. Only for a few minutes again)

I tried turning off the router Firewall

I tried Wired and Wireless connection both only connect for 5min to 30mins

Things I am unable to try

The one thing I cannot find to try is the "keep alive option" I can find it anywhere on the ubee so I dont even think it has it.

I cannot update the firmware on the modem there is no option

So what is my next step.  (besides throwing it out the window)

since I have posted this I have done a few other things

a. I have turned on dmz for the playstation

b. I have formatted my ps3 and lost all my data to see if this would fix the issue. (i read it on these forums and still it has not)

Hi alanwest09872,

I would try connecting it at a friend's house with a different router and/or internet service provider.  It would give you an idea if this is a networking configuration issue or a possible hardware one.

Thanks,

Hi alanwest09872,

It looks like you've tried a whole host of options.  If you can do so, may be another type of router could help since it worked fine on another connection.  Do you have other devices that could be sucking up bandwidth on your network or is your wireless connection unsecured?

Thanks,

U--J

I ended up getting rid of the ubee and got a motoral/linksys system. It configured correctly and havent had an issue yet.
