Can't sign onto playstation network

2 replies 247 views Edited Sep 29, 2012

This is the message that keeps coming up.

"THE CONNECTION WITH SONY ENTERTAINMENT NETWORK TIMED OUT."

"IT'S TAKING A LONG TIME TO SIGN IN, PLEASE CHECK YOUR CONNECTION."

I have internet access, so why can't I get signed into the network?

Error code 80710FF what does that mean?

When I do the internet test on the PS3, everything is fine except for the PLAYSTATION NETWORK it says FAILED.

I can access the internet on my computer, but I can't access the internet with the PS3?

Or is it SONY's ancient servers that won't let me sign on?

Any one have any ideas out there?

Same problem here.....for the past four days I have been trying to download the Battlefield 3 1.06 update (1.5 GB) and get no more than 30% of the way done and get disconnected from PSN.  Just to get 30% downloaded takes a few hours and I have a 12 MBPs internet connection which works flawlessly on every device in my house EXCEPT the PS3.  I can sign in when I first turn on the PS3 then after awhile it just disconnects.

I am getting Error Code 80710723.  Resetting my cablemodem and router did not help.  I even tried changing my wireless channel although my desktop, laptop, and three phones all work fine.

This has started after I signed in four days ago for the first time in two weeks and had to download a PS3 system update.
