I also had just obtained a $50 PSN card through email from Sony Rewards. I called the Sony customer support and they verified that the code was legitimate, but that it had not been activated yet and said I would have to contact whomever gave me the code to activate it. So I then called SonyRewards and they said that they send out all the codes activated and would have to send my request to management to help sort out the deal =/
Im in the same boat as you guys. I called customer service and they took all my info and they had me sign in and enter the code but it didnt work. She then gave me an email address and a work order number and I had to forward the email with the code(the email from sony rewards) to that address with my work order number. They said it take 3-5 days for an answer and i think she said business days so now I wait.
Just to follow up in case anyone cares or for anyone with future problems. Sony has responded to me already which was nice, just a few hours. Got a "replacement" code but it was really the same exact code that wasnt working earlier, HOWEVER it worked this time when I entered it so problem solved. Dont know the cause but the end result is a good one.
