Am I completely hosed?

9 replies 129 views Edited May 17, 2011

I created a sub-account with a bogus e-mail address.  Since I already had two or three other legit accounts with legit e-mail addresses, I didn't see the need for more PSN spam, especially since it was just a "dork around" account that I'd use to play Call of Duty and not be "seen" by my PSN friends.

The bogus e-mail address ends with "boom.com" and it wants to send an e-mail there to reset my password.  Since I can't sign up for a "boom.com" e-mail address to retrieve the password reset instructions, I assume that account is now a lost cause?

Anyway around it?  I was able to reset my two main accounts without the need to have an e-mail sent -- and even if it did, they were real accounts.

Forum's been back since early Sunday morning

And I bet a TON of people use bogus accounts.  Tell me truly, if you have more than two or three accounts, did you use a legit e-mail for each one?

Also, what about people who signed up with an e-mail account and now that e-mail address is no longer available?  Are they hosed?

They need to contact Customer Service.

For someone who's formerly legit email addy has been lost can get help from customer support with their user ID, birthdate and PS3 (or PSP) serial number.

As for your situation, they might be able to help you out, provided you can provide the birthdate you registered the account with.  My guess is that you used a bogus birthdate as well, though.

As for me: 4 accounts, all with legit email addys (my ISP provides up to 10, and hotmail/live/yahoo/google still provide free email addys.

ask sony support about that, since i had my psn email account type with a missing letter and i was able to fix this and started receiving email and other stuff...

that missing letter caused my EA games status to no work since i started playing EA games with the mistype...

i guess you could fix this.
