All Day PSN Maintenance - March 1st 2012

9 replies 41 views Edited Feb 28, 2012

Taken from the PS Blog today.

PlayStation Network Regular Scheduled Maintenance on Thursday

+ Posted by Patrick Seybold // Sr. Director, Corporate Communications & Social Media

PlayStation Network will undergo a significant maintenance period on Thursday, March 1st. Maintenance is expected to start at just after 8:00 am Pacific and will last for several hours, until approximately 10pm Pacific. Unlike typical maintenance events, consumers who are already signed-in to PSN will be signed-out, and consumers will be unable to sign in for the duration of the maintenance window. During this time, users won’t be able to access the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Home, Account Management or play online.

PSN enabled websites will not be able to service users, including this one. Please stay tuned to the PlayStation Twitter feed for a notice when PSN is fully back online.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Indeed, they cancelled it, not that many of us would have known about it, I never saw anything on here to indicate the cancellation, it appeared on Twitter though!

Why can't PS send an E-mail to all users via the network when maintenance is going to be done. Not everyone check forums like this?

They post notices on the PlayStation Blog, and on Twitter. You can subscribe to Blog updates via email pretty easily. Look for the Subscribe section on the right side of the page: http://blog.us.playstation.com/

I agree. I only found out about Sunday's maintenance because I went and bought a psn card at gamestop and the guy at the register told me I won't be able to log on and dl a game until Monday. I'm not subscribed to their blog/twitter because I don't want all the conent on it; I only want updates on system down times and updates. There has to be a way to get this right?

So what's the problem with my PS3 showing an 80710102 error code after the maintenance on Sunday? My router is acting totally fine. Did a power cycle and even linked it to my PS3 again. It has the right network password and everything. But for some odd reason, my PS3 won't sign on now.

I don't know, but it's not because PSN is down or due to the recent maintenance.

Perform an internet connection test & post back with the results.
