Account migration from US PSN to BR PSN, please, please, please

Dear Sony support,

I was a PSN user in Brazil way before you even allowed PSN account creation for Brazil. I had no choice, if I wanted to make proper use of my shiny new PS3, other than to go ahead and create an US account.

Then you started PSN in Brazil, and you didn't allow account migrations, I said "ok, not a problem".

Except that there is a huge problem. CoD Black Ops (and other games too, possibly) will ALWAYS through me in online multiplayer sessions with people from the US. Which is fine, you all are fine people, but there is a problem with that: I always get a bad connection speed.

Meanwhile, everyone who has a PSN account set to Brazil will be placed together and happily play less laggier games than me.

Sony, please, please, please allow this change. It's a change to a single field in a database. Do this for me and I promise I won't bother you again.

Thank you.

As you already know this isn't possible & it's likely to remain that way for some time, if not permanently, I know it means losing your tophies etc but unfortunately you're left with no other option than making a new account.

oh it's fully possible. sony just rarely does it. I know people who have gotten their accounts transfered due to stalking, cyber bullying, etc. so they CAN do it. It's just a matter of WILL they. good luck

You can't contact Sony customer support by posting to this forum.  This forum is for PSN members to support other members only.  But I can give you their answer anyway.

Not going to happen.  If for no other reason than the fact that you violated the PSN terms of service and user agreement by creating a US PSN account when you are a resident of Brazil.  To do so, you must have lied about where you live, which is against the rules.  Sony is hardly likely to reward that behavior by transferring the account that you had no right to have in the first place, to a different PSN, for your benefit. You should be thankful that Sony didn't ban your US PSN account after you made the request.  It had every right to do so, if it wanted to.

and what about folks that went to college in the USA and moved back to Brazil once they got their BA  or MBA? would that still not be grounds for a account transfer?

The truth is SOny doesn't want to change countries. They said it could not be changed when you created it. I know your reason is good and sound, but it is not something they want to do. My guess is that you creating an account in a country you do not live in, is detecable, but they do not want to bother. However when you ask to change form one country to another, there are now laws in that country they need to abide by, one could be as simple as import laws. the other could be censorship laws. It would be far easier to make it, one account one country.

That said. Just activate your US account, and the games are playable on the Brazil account. In the meantime, you can now purchase games in Brazil and over time migrate to the correct store for your country.
