Hey guys,
Just wondering if anyone knows / remembers what the PSN Security Questions were. According to the Sony email that went out to the EU users, there's a chance that "Security Answers" were part of the security breach. Meaning, certain questions that banks use, such as "Mother's maiden name" or "First elementary school" potentially are in the hands of hackers. We should know which questions were used so we can protect ourselves.

I don't recall being asked such questions in signing into PSN originally, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen! Does ANYONE clearly remember doing that?

I don't remember answering them either, but the EU email specifically mentioned them.

You weren't asked security questions. The security questions are the questions that you were provided when you registered your PSN account and they are used to help recover your forgotten password. Sony shouldn't have to tell us which questions were used becasue you picked a security question and gave an answer.
Hackers having the security questions pretty much undermines the idea of changing our password when the network goes back onlnie.

Not so much... Sony has confirmed what I speculated about, when it comes back up, they will be using the MAC address (hardware) to authenticate you and force you to choose a new password before fully logging in. My guess is there may be a new security question involved... BUT how does one create a question that can lead one to a password like J7t67H5Nn598?

Yeah I said that before Sony gave details on how exactly we would recover our accounts once the network is back online.

my security question was- Where were you born - i think i put in East LA
ive had sony ask me the question before when i called about plus refund,
actually now that i think about it it was to get my new ps3 to allow me to download movies - had to switch the first one off
I just hope the email account recovery is good - because I am on my 3rd ps3 - the one i registered under is in my closet never to see light again

Well yes sony gave details on how to recover the account and what not but from what is being said by sony, they account password must be changed from the ps3 that ACTIVATED THE ACCOUNT. Not the ps3 you were playing on before the shutdown. I activated my account on a ps3 that was sent back to sony due to YLOD. Was sent out a new ps3 and that one is currently dead too. WTF am I to do?

uhhh, maybe use the email verification process Sony mentioned in the same sentence they mentioned using the ps3 that activated your account?
