Due to the very light use of 1080p, and the fact I don't want a 40 inch plus, I'm personally looking into a 32-inch Samsung. It has wide aspect, supports 720p, (looking forward to finally playing Resistance in HD) and is affordable for it's quality. It also has two HDMI hookups, not bad. I got a wide aspect 30 inch Samsung with only 1080i in 2003 out of box, and have gotten stellar use from it for a long time, longer than most people would have stuck with it. So Samsung has a faithful customer in me based off that. Doesn't hurt that everything I see running on those Samsungs at system kiosks look fan-freaking-tastic.
The Bravia stuff would be nice, but it's out of my price range. I get my W-2 forms this coming Wednesday, with e-file I can have a refund and thus funds for my new HDTV by Friday, potentially, but probaly Monday.
